How to Balance Your Glow Goals With Summer

The days are getting longer, the temperature is getting warmer, and our diaries are getting busier… It’s officially Summer; the one time of the year where we get to soak up the sun and let our hair down a little, and boy, have we earned it. 

We know it can feel difficult to balance your glow goals when there is SO MUCH TO DO and so much sun to enjoy but trust us, there are ways to make your health and fitness routine work, even in Summer.

Work out, wherever!

The beauty of being a WeGLOW member is that you literally have access to any kind of workout, class and flow, wherever you go. It’s the personal trainer and teacher in your pocket that you can prop up against a water bottle on the beach, lean against a tree in the park, or even project onto an iPad in your villa garden. 

If you also know you’ll be moving away from the gym and will be needing to follow workouts that have minimal equipment, you can pause your current guide to re-start when you return, and select a different home-focused guide or challenge, or even plan out the WeGLOW one-off workouts for set calendar days. 

AND with the new launch of the 6-Week Summer Sculpt Challenge on the 12th of June, you’ll be able to easily move your body wherever you are, using minimal equipment and in less than 45 minutes per workout. Dream!

Choose your timing 

We know that as soon as you get into your day, getting a workout done in the afternoon or evening is next to impossible, and that’s okay! 

The best way to tick off your planned workout is in the morning before any other plans start creeping in. That way, you have the whole day to do whatever you want, and you know that you’ve smashed a WeGLOW workout before the day has even started. 

Even better, if you know it’s going to be a busy day and you need to leave the house by 10am, move your guide/challenge workout to another day, and choose a one-off workout instead, which tends to be a shorter workout sesh. 

Meal prep, meal prep, meal prep

We promise you, this is the best way to hit your nutrition goals, whilst still having time during the day… That’s if you’re not going full holiday mode, which is also perfectly fine. 

You can either meal prep a huge pasta salad or regular salad, and split it into Tupperware to store in the fridge or cook enough of your protein to eat throughout the week with either microwave rice or pasta and pre-prepped veggies, or in wraps or burgers. 

The WeGLOW recipes we’re lovin’ for summer meal prep? The ‘15-minute Meal Prep Protein Pasta’, ‘Zesty Cuban Prawn Pasta’, ‘Quick Protein Wraps’ and the ‘Make-Ahead Balsamic Pasta Salad’ are our go-to’s for the warmer weather. 

AND if snacks are your thang, but you want to stick to your nutrition plan, WeGLOW energy bites and balls are a lifesaver. Minimal cooking, minimal cleaning, and you can make a bunch in one go and store in Tupperware in your fridge… Our personal fave is the WeGLOW ‘No-bake Date and Coconut Energy Bites’ recipe. 

Stay hydrated 

Hydration is KEY for keeping our minds and bodies working in the way we want them to;  especially whilst you’re out having fun in the sun, and maybe having the odd Margarita, remember to drink your agua. 

You don’t have to buy a water bottle every single time you’re out of your house – buy a reusable water bottle, throw in a few slices of lemon and cucumber, and fill it up wherever you see a refill station. Most restaurants, bars and cafes will also happily fill your bottle up too!

Want to stay hydrated throughout the day without having a water bottle by your side? Snack on cucumber and watermelon, which have a high level of water content, and are ideal for those moments out in the sun when you’re feeling a little peckish.

Balance is key… Don’t forget to have fun!

At WeGLOW, we’re all about the glow on the inside just as much as on the outside, and we can’t stress enough the importance of enjoying your summer. We appreciate that you may want to stay focused, but remember that doing things that make you feel good, like seeing friends and family or dancing the night away, are key to your well-being. 

So, enjoy Summer. Soak it all up, worship the sun, and be your best glowing self that you’ve worked so hard these last few months to be.
