4 WAYS TO HAVE AN EFFECTIVE WORKOUT IN A BUSY GYM

Don’t stress about things you can’t control – in a busy gym, your plan may go out the window but fear not. Here’s some top tips on how to ensure your workout is effective.

Try bodyweight training

You don’t have to wait for weights. Instead, use what you’ve got to get what you want. Body weight exercises such as push-ups, lunges, squats, wall sits and planks require no special equipment. You use your body to build muscle and get a workout that burns fat, boosts flexibility and builds core strength.

Stay put

Grab a set of dumbbells and a mat and stake out a spot at the gym. You can then skip fighting/waiting for other weights and machines.

Avoid peak hours

Ok, this is probably an obvious tip, but ask yourself: Is it possible to switch around your schedule. If you always exercise after work, what about an early-morning or lunchtime workout when the gym isn’t as crowded?

Multitask your muscles
With the gym being so crowded, you might not have the luxury of using multiple pieces of equipment at once, so make your muscles work double time by performing exercises that work several muscles at once. For instance, compound exercises are exercises that work multiple muscle groups at the same time. For example, a squat is a compound exercise that works the quadriceps, glutes, and calves.

The more muscles you can work at once, the more effective the session will be!
