5 Tips for Starting Your Health & Fitness Journey with WeGLOW

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned fitness fanatic that’s tried all the app’s, pdf’s & gym classes, here are five tips that will help you in your journey with WeGLOW.

Don’t wait for a Monday

…or the beginning of a month. If you have a goal & understand your why then there is no better time like the present.

This mindset can result in constant procrastination, and indefinitely delaying taking those first steps on your health & fitness journey, just think of the days, weeks or even months you could’ve lost to this attitude.

Instead, think about one small thing you can do today. Yes, today! Whether it’s pouring yourself a glass of water, booking a gym class for later in the day, making that one small change will be your starting point.

Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition

There are no shortcuts to health & fitness.

For many, we can get our steps in, show up to the workouts, and for the most part  stick to our programs. But nutrition, this is where it can all go wrong. After all, the most intense workout is only a small portion of your day, and what effect will it ultimately have if your nutrition is out the window!

It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but by taking the time to educate yourself about the basics of nutrition, will be the game changer.

Consistency is the goal

Once you’ve mastered the basics, found the routine that works for you, it’s time to get consistent. This will create lifelong habits & reward you by achieving the goal you initially set out to achieve.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions

We don’t expect you to be the expert, so ask the questions! With health & fitness it’s not a case of one size fits all, so ask the PT in the gym why your lower back hurts when doing RDL’s, head to the learn section in the App for the questions you may be too afraid to ask us. Knowledge is power so support your journey with understanding the WHY’s behind everything.

Find your team

Whether that’s someone in real-life to head to the gym with or go on a run, to virtual, like-minded friends to support your journey. A support system is so important when working towards your fitness goals.

Sharing your experiences with others can make you more accountable. “I’m heading to the gym at 5:30 if you want to join me?” You can’t cancel last minute now. A support system is also great for the feeling of inclusivity, there will be struggles along the way, and it’s nice to feel like you’re not the only person going through that struggle.

If you’re new to fitness or just new to the App why not try our RE/START challenge. This 6 Week Program is designed to help you master the basics of training, whether that’s in the gym or at home. Whether you’re new to health and fitness, ready to make a return, or just want to improve your knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals – this is what you’ve been waiting for!
